Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

These terms and conditions apply when you purchase products from Cotton Lily through this website. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Products

I aim to describe and photograph all Cotton Lily products as accurately as possible.

Many Cotton Lily pieces are handmade. Small variations in shape, size, finish or appearance may therefore occur and are part of the nature of handmade products.

Colours may also appear slightly different depending on your screen or device.

Plants, pots and other styling items shown in photographs are not included unless the product description specifically says otherwise.

Placing an order

When you place an order through the website, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your basket.

You will receive an order confirmation by email.

If I am unable to accept or fulfil your order, I will contact you and any payment taken for the affected item will be refunded.

Please check the information you provide at checkout carefully, particularly your delivery address. If you notice an error after ordering, contact me as soon as possible at cottonlilyshop@gmail.com.

Prices and payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£).

Delivery charges are calculated at checkout according to the size and weight of the items in your order.

Payment must be made through one of the payment methods offered at checkout.

Payments are processed securely by the payment provider used on the website. Cotton Lily does not normally receive or store your full payment-card details.

Delivery

I currently deliver within the United Kingdom.

Every order is prepared and packed with care. I aim for orders to arrive within 5–10 working days of being placed.

Orders are normally dispatched using Royal Mail Second Class or another suitable delivery service where necessary.

During particularly busy periods, around makers’ markets or in circumstances outside my reasonable control, delivery may take a little longer. I will contact you if I become aware of a significant delay.

Unless we have agreed otherwise, goods will be delivered within the period required by UK consumer law.

Please see the Delivery & Returns page for further information about postage and delivery.

Cancelling an order

For most products purchased online, you have the right to change your mind.

You have 14 days from the day you receive your order to tell me that you wish to cancel it.

After notifying me, you then have a further 14 days to return the goods.

To cancel an order, email cottonlilyshop@gmail.com and include your name and order number where possible.

Returning unwanted products

Items should be returned unused and in their original condition.

You may inspect an item as you reasonably would in a shop, but I may make an appropriate deduction from your refund if its value has been reduced because it has been handled more than necessary.

Unless an item is faulty, damaged or incorrect, you are responsible for the cost of returning it.

Please contact me before sending anything back so that I can provide the appropriate return details.

Refunds

Once a cancelled order has been returned, I will issue any refund due within 14 days of receiving the item back, or within 14 days of receiving evidence that it has been returned where applicable.

Where you cancel the whole order under your statutory cancellation rights, the original standard delivery charge will also be refunded.

If you chose a more expensive delivery option than the standard service offered, the additional delivery cost does not have to be refunded.

Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method.

Personalised and custom-made products

The statutory right to cancel does not normally apply to products that have been made specifically to your individual specifications or clearly personalised for you.

This does not mean that an ordinary Cotton Lily product loses its cancellation rights simply because it is handmade or made after you place your order. The exception applies where the product has been genuinely customised or personalised specifically for you.

Your rights relating to faulty or incorrectly supplied goods still apply to personalised or custom-made products.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect products

Under UK consumer law, goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for their intended purpose.

If your order arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, please contact me as soon as possible at cottonlilyshop@gmail.com, including your order number and photographs where possible.

I will work with you to arrange an appropriate replacement, repair or refund.

Where goods are faulty, damaged or incorrect, Cotton Lily will cover any reasonable return costs where required.

Handmade products

Because many Cotton Lily products are handmade, small differences between individual pieces are normal.

These natural handmade variations are not considered faults where the item is otherwise as described and fit for purpose.

This does not affect your statutory rights where a product is genuinely faulty, damaged or not as described.

Product use and care

Please follow any product-specific instructions or care information supplied with your order or shown on the product page.

Customers are responsible for using products appropriately and for their intended purpose.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Events outside my control

I will not be responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside my reasonable control.

If such circumstances significantly affect your order, I will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and take appropriate steps to minimise the delay.

Website information

I try to ensure that information on the Cotton Lily website is accurate and up to date.

Occasionally, mistakes may occur in descriptions, prices or availability. If I discover an error that affects an order you have already placed, I will contact you as soon as possible.

Intellectual property

The Cotton Lily name, branding, product designs, photographs, illustrations and original website content remain the property of Cotton Lily unless otherwise stated.
They may not be copied, reproduced or used commercially without permission.

Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with the Cotton Lily Privacy Policy, which is available on this website.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms and conditions from time to time.

The terms that apply to your purchase will be those in force when you place your order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in England and Wales.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have to bring a claim in another part of the United Kingdom where consumer law gives you that right.
